Once you upload your resume, that’s the document that recruiters will be able to view when they find you in search. Paired with that will be a simple profile that we know their software can read easily. This profile uses information taken directly from the resume you uploaded, such as education and work history. After uploading a new resume, please take a moment to make any edits necessary to that profile, and you’ll be all set!

You'll also have the option to use our Ladders Resume tool, which provides helpful feedback on the formatting and information in your resume, as well as structuring that information in a format we're sure recruiter software will be better able to read. To access that, click "View Feedback," on the right hand side of that page. There's an option to build a resume from scratch with our Ladders Resume tool on the empty state of this page (if you have no resume uploaded) - Either remove or replace the resume you currently have uploaded to return there.

Using our tool, your Ladders Resume will not look exactly like your personal resume. On our site, we'll use industry standard formatting rules to help you build a new, separate resume that's easy for most recruiter software to read. This document can be used on our site as a profile for recruiters, or you can download it to use elsewhere as well.

So that you don't have to go through and build a completely new document to store here, you'll have the option of importing your personal resume into our system to help us pull together the relevant information for your Ladders Resume. It's possible that when your resume was imported, our system had trouble reading it the same way a recruiter's software would have.

We designed our Ladders Resume tool to help you make your resume as effective as possible, and part of that is making sure that computer software doesn’t misunderstand the information you list – and that you list the most relevant, impressive achievements. We wouldn’t want such a miscommunication causing you to lose out on a great job.

Within the resume tool itself, you can correct any section where your information did not quite make it through the system accurately.
You will want to visit the Resume page on-site to review the document our system built, and make any changes to your new Ladders Resume. When you apply to jobs directly on Ladders, you can either use your Ladders Resume or attach a different resume file.
